Description

UNE X WITRE:

This instruction is the result of a collaboration between Une Cecilie and Witre Design. You can read about the process of creating the instruction below. It comes from Ida (Witre Design). Together with Une Cecilie and her love for old hiking knitwear, we digitized the instruction and turned it into a chart. We were able to do what we do best and learned a lot from each other along the way. We hope that we can inspire even more people to pick up their knitting this autumn and winter! Take your knitting for a walk or up the stairs with a large mug of cocoa and feel how it warms you up in the cold weather.

Bjorg Sweater is a thick and cosy, multicoloured sweater with an extra-long and oversized fit. Since it is rather large, it is perfect for cold autumn and winter days, either for yourself or for someone you love. The sweater is worked bottom up with folded hem and cuffs. Sew over the stitches at the armholes with the sewing machine and cut them open to make room for the sleeves. The sleeves are also worked bottom up and then sewn to the armholes using the mattress stitch. The sweater is made from five different colours of yarn. The instruction shows several variations, along with information on the colour codes, so you can get inspiration for your very own Bjorg sweater.

Size guide:
Choose a size that has approx. 25-30 cm of positive ease, compared to your own chest circumference. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the front page. The sleeve length is measured on the inside of the sleeve, i.e. the inner sleeve length. Note that the shoulders are slightly dropped, which results in the total length. The total sleeve length is calculated approx. 5 cm shorter than the inner sleeve length.

Recommended needles
4,5 mm (80 or 100 cm) circular needle for body and sleeves. If you don’t work the sleeves with the Magic Loop method, you will need an additional 40 cm long circular needle.
3,5 mm (80 or 100 cm) circular needle for the folded hem and cuffs as well as at the neckline. If you don’t work with the Magic Loop method, you will need an additional 40 cm long circular needle.
