Hi, it's so nice to see you here!
My name is Ida. Maybe we've met before, but if not, I can tell you a little about who I am:
I am married to Lars, mum to three boys, and live in the countryside, just outside Oslo, Norway. On a daily basis, I run Witre Design, which is a knitting business where I design and create knitting patterns. Witre has been alive since 2018, and been my full time job since 2019.
My desire behind running my own business and working with yarn and needles has always been to show knitting in my own way, so that even more people can find knitting as a hobby. The joy of learning, developing, immersing oneself, being inspired, breathing and slowing down, while creating something with one's own hands, is something very special. We need to slow down once in a while, and knitting can be a tool to be able to do that, because it is impossible to do it quickly. It takes the time it takes, in a good way. I hope and believe that if it applies to me, it might apply to you as well.
I find that knitting has become important to me, and to many more, in a time of increased focus on slow fashion, quality and sustainability. But especially having a hobby that gives you a sense of calm and mastery - where you can decide the pace yourself and influence the final result.
I hope you will try, regardless of whether you are a beginner or an established knitter. Knitting is both the process and the finished garment. It doesn't have to be perfect to give you the joy of creating. The imperfect becomes something completely unique and personal.
