Nordic summer yarn has been a dream for over 2 years. From before, Pernille had bought her first machines and Ida had just got half of Norway to knit her very own Nordic summer top. The first meeting was over a cup of coffee at the Jazz Bar in central Oslo. After this, countless emails, phone calls and messages have been exchanged with thoughts and dreams about what this yarn will one day become. The desire was all the way to create a new type of yarn that cannot be found on the market, created for both hot and cold summer days.
Nordic summer yarn consists of 50% lamb's wool, 25% mulberry silk and 25% linen.
The yarn can be used for all of Witre Design's already published summer recipes. Create an Olden top, Skagen tee, Retro button top, Nordic summer top or perhaps a Cropped western tee in luxurious quality yarn.
Nordic summer yarn, later named Markagarn, can be purchased at Oslo mikrospinneri here.

When the project was to be completed, Norway was in hibernation mode. Travel restrictions and quarantine rules meant that we could not meet as planned. The pictures are therefore taken while I, as a model, am on a completely different side of the country than the photographer. We met digitally and photographed the screen. It therefore turned into something completely different from what we had planned - and perhaps it turned into something even better.
patterns is not sold as a single recipe in Norwegian, but is available in English and German .
